ChangeX07 is well underway ! (See our new home page) Covering even more streams of design ... Over 15 graduate exhibitions from leading Sydney Universities and colleges have been viewed by experienced SRD members. The evaluation panel has met and selected the short list. All that's required now is to finalise our fantastic sponsors and put our plan into action. And for our plan we have a great list of exhibitors (around 20) keen to show their worth and value as "the New Designers for our Future"

Designers that have seen much existing process as deficient and propose New ideas featuring efficiency, sustainability and a greater sense of humanity.

. Mandy Burns _ Dual Wastewater Shower Diverter BIndDes UWS _ Changex06 . This elegant and functional design has now been exhibited twice with ChangeX and as a direct benefit from all that exposure, is currently being patented with great interest from manufacturers seeing our show. A good concept coupled with classic long-lasting style, finished in fit-for-purpose highly durable materials. Best of all it's a great water saving idea.

Sebastian Braat _ Dual Solar Tile innovation BIndDes UWS _ Changex06 . The original brief was to design a roof-integrated photovoltaic based panel suitable for the production and delivery of electric DC current to a domestic grid-connected solar power inverter. And it really does! All designed to fit perfectly with Australian concrete tiles and fastenings. The design generated much interest and was also given extended showing at the Powerhouse Museum. A powerful combination of ideas.

Julie Frost _ Portable Water Purifier BIndDes UNSW _ Changex06 . This advanced design has received great publicity and deservedly so. A converting water carry bucket concept that uses natural soybean wax and sunshine to pasteurise and destroy bacteria in dirty well-water that so often causes illness in developing countries. It's capable of working in the harshest of conditions. Julie has received a bronze medal at Australian Design Award - Dyson Student awards and gained genuine interest from international aid agencies. This is potentially a great salvation for many people.
